What are Water$ave Dam Sealers?
We have two Water$ave Dam Sealers available, Water$ave Plug & Water$ave Seep. They are powerful polymer blends designed to seal leaks in earthen dams & ponds. The crystals expand when exposed to water, creating a plug that seals leaks & cracks.
Do I need to empty my dam or pond first?
No! Water$ave Dam Sealers are applied directly to the water’s surface. It works to keep your existing water in the dam were possible.
How do I apply it?
Water$ave Dam Sealers are broadcast by hand or spreader over the water surface. A rate of 100 grams per square metre is recommended. If broadcasting beyond 1.5 metres it is advised to do so from a water vessel i.e boat. For best results remove any obstructions (e.g weeds, reeds, leaves, & silt) before application & apply on a calm, dry day.
How quickly does it work?
Most customers see results within 7–10 days. In some cases, sealing can occur in just a few days. A second application may be needed for larger or persistent leaks.
How much product do I need?
The application rate is 100 grams per square metre. On 18kg pails covers approximately 180 metres square.
Is it safe for livestock & fish?
Absolutely. Water$ave Plug & Seep is non-toxic, biodegradable & safe for animals, fish & plants. Pending application location, it can be recommended to temporally remove them from the area as to give the product enough to work.
What if it still leaks after 3 weeks?
Check the following:
- Has there been any improvement?
- Was the correct amount used?
- Were obstructions like weeds removed?
- Is the water deep enough for the product to work?

Which product do I use?

Can I use it in a new dam?
Yes! Water$ave Dam Sealers can be mixed into the soil during dam construction. We do advise contacting us to discuss your site beforehand as application can vary.
Will it work on my soil type?
Water$ave Dam Sealers work on most soils. In highly acidic, alkaline, or saline soils, you may need to apply more product for best results.
